No encounter with Mother Nature ever leaves us unchanged.
An evocative image of sky and nature is combined with original poetry inspired by the encounter, matted together in a single frame.
The 15" x 18" mat displays an archival print in one window, with the verse displayed in a deeper, double-matted window below it, adding a sense depth to the print. The text is printed on a variety of handmade Nepalese, Thai and Indian papers, with imbedded fibers from mango, banana and other plants. Matting is 1/2" thick. It comes ready to frame and hang, inside a plastic protective sleeve.
The title and a description of the event appears on the back, along with information about the print and the type of handmade paper.
The clouds flowing out from a distant storm are mirrored in the gentle waves washing onshore from the Gulf of Mexico, where digging toes in the sand is encouraged.
Crystal Beach, Texas, November, 2010
"The Sea" verse is printed on Thai Unryu Paper layered over Thai Bark Paper.
"We stood as our toes got acquainted Deep in the sand by the sea As the sky sang her song about colors We dreamed of a deepness to be."
